No writing experience required, but you have to have a sense of wonder, a hankering for the heroic, and a sense that Earth is not room enough. So, if you can't watch the shuttle launch without feeling that dampness about the eyes and that tightness in the throat; if you wonder what meeting an alien would be like; if strange landscapes and stranger folk give you joy, then come and learn how to give those feelings to others. Now you dont have to make the time to write, we've made it for you! All you have to do is show up on Fridays. The main aim of the Writing Marathon group is to get some serious writing done. We work in 40 minute blocks with short breaks, sometimes we do a bit of goal setting and planning in the beginning and we make a time at the end for a reading. Often we help each other if someone is really stuck with a piece of writing. Sometimes writing can feel terrifying and overwhelming, in our writing group we hope to make it less painless, maybe even fun so you can realise your dreams of finishing that novel, that story, that poem!
